PHET Interactive Simulations can be used to supplement Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, and Mathematics courses. The site is created by the University of Colorado with the aim of enhancing learning and motivating students through playful discovery activities that support many optional languages package. Founded in 2002 by Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman, the PhET Interactive Simulations project at the University of Colorado Boulder creates free interactive math and science simulations. PhET sims are based on extensive education research and engage students in an intuitive, game-like environment where students learn through exploration and discovery.

” Science means constantly walking a tightrope between blind faith and curiosity; between expertise and creativity; between bias and openness; between experience and epiphany; between ambition and passion; and between arrogance and conviction – in short, between an old today and a new tomorrow.”

– Heinrich Rohrer

Science teaching is a process that usually involves describing a phenomenon, initializing it through “imagination”, and then through a schema, processing it and eventually understanding it. The teacher encounters several difficulties in teaching the lesson due either to the particularity of the course [representation of natural laws, shapes, mathematical equations by solution, experiments, and e.t.c] or to the attitude of some learners who due to lack of understanding cannot participate in teaching. Digital simulations are a particularly enjoyable way of presenting various physical phenomena as it is a surveillance material. The interactivity of some makes them a useful educational tool that gives students the opportunity to experiment, to look at the variables involved in each phenomenon and ultimately to learn better.
